John Stewart is the Pastor of Student Ministries at Palm
Canyon Community Church. He started here on August
14, 1989 and has been the only Youth Pastor at the
Church. When John first arrived, the youth group
had ten students in a combined Junior High and High
School group. Now, through Direct Effect and The
EDGE, many are coming every month, hearing the Good News
of Jesus Christ and growing closer in their relationship
to God. Read on to learn more about his family.... |

THE
MARRIAGE |
|
John and Patti Stewart were
married on March 25, 1989, at New Life Community Church in
Artesia, California. They met at that same church
when they were both in Junior High. Long before
dating (as Seniors in High School), they were close
friends. They moved to Moreno Valley five months
after being married when John accepted a call to serve and
work at Palm Canyon. |

THE
CHILDREN |
|
Brayden is the oldest son
and was born on Mother's Day on May 8, 1994. It was
the greatest Mother's Day gift Patti ever received.
Brayden loves baseball (actually he loves any sport), the
computer, video games and is very smart.
Trent was born four years
and four days after Brayden (on May 12, 1998). Trent
continues to be "active" in the truest sense of the word.
He also loves sports, playing both soccer and baseball.
Both Brayden and Trent are
home-schooled and doing quite well. Part of that
schooling is playing piano, drums and being in a bowling
league. They are both involved in AWANA and The ROCK
FOR KIDS. Brayden plays keyboard for the Rock 'N
Faith Band and Trent is learning drums through the School
of Rock. Most of their free time is spent with each
other, the family, and their neighborhood friends.
They enjoy swimming and, of course, baseball (backyard,
front yard, house, wherever). Both are computer
literate and have now mastered PlayStation2. They
have a strong love for God and are growing in their
knowledge and understanding of Him. |

THE WRAP
UP |
|
John says he is one lucky
man. A great wife, terrific children, and a nice
home... God has been good. John knows time is of the
essence and with so much going on at church, it's nice
sometimes just to get away and spend some quality time
together as a family. It is their desire for their
family to grow closer together as they grow closer to God.
John and Patti want to raise their boys to know Jesus and
to share the gifts God has given them to make a difference
in the Kingdom of God (just as they are trying to do as
Brayden's and Trent's
parents). |
